Living the Lyme Life

The Lyme Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of Living the Lyme Life. Through this initiative, made possible by a gift from the estate of Hank and Freda Swan who generously gave their time and resources to support Lyme’s outdoor spaces, we are soliciting opportunities to invest in efforts that enhance or expand the spaces where our community gathers and recreates. Please take a moment to share your thoughts for the Living the Lyme Life initiative on the form below. (More information about the initiative can be found below the form.)

About the initiative

We are inviting Lyme residents and community organizations to participate by sharing your ideas and visions for improving our public spaces. While some proposed projects might be limited to placing a new bench in a favorite spot, others might be far more extensive proposals. The Lyme Foundation can provide the financial backing and organizational leadership to move these ideas to fruition, but we will need the collective effort of a committed group of residents to make these ideas a reality.

We hope to begin working on your ideas for enhancing or improving the spaces in Lyme. The Lyme Foundation will continue our regular grant-making, scholarship, and public assistance work simultaneously. Living the Lyme Life is supplemental to our normal operations. For the time being, we are only asking for ideas. The Lyme Foundation will review all submissions and select the concepts that have the highest level of public support and align with the goals of the initiative. In later phases, we will be looking to enlist the support of individuals who might want to contribute in any way to a specific project.

In part, Lyme is a special place to live because previous generations invested in our public spaces. This is our opportunity to continue to build on that tradition.
